Directed by Robin Wyland · with Jess Monroe
The work

We make films. Good ones.

Robo develops and produces its own features and short work — stories with a handwriting, made to last. On other people’s films we come in as a co-producer, not as a supplier. Fewer things, made properly.

01 · Own films

Development & production

Features and shorts we own and steer — from first idea to final cut. Our IP, our pace, our standard.

02 · Co-production

We come in. We don’t take briefs.

Where the material fits the label, we join as a partner — with capital, with material, with production capability. What we put in is negotiable; that we put something in is not.

03 · AI workflow

The pipeline, passed on

We built a working AI production pipeline for our own films and produce on it. Houses that want their own can have ours: workflow, consistency, rights and cost control — the method, not the output.

The slate

Not finished yet.

Every Tuesday we post one frame from something we haven't finished. A title, a line, nothing else. Some of these become films. Some don't. You'll see them either way.

Feature · Sports drama

Formula One, 1988. Two rivals, one rigged season.

Feature · Drama

A line cook who stutters loses everything the night he can't call out a name.

The feature version of our 2021 short.

Vertical series · Mediterranean noir

Sardinia. She came home to bury her parents. He came for something else.

Developed & co-produced by Robo Productions · Produced by Black Forest Studios

Series · YA adventure

A harbour town where the old gods still own the water.

// Development artwork. Titles and images can still change.

What Robo stands for

The mark is a promise.

I started Robo to make the films I love — fewer, braver, made with real care. Every film that carries the name is one I'd happily watch a hundred times over. That's the whole idea — and I'd love to share it with you.

— Robin Wyland, Founder

01

Taste over volume

I'd rather make one film we love than ten we don't.

02

A point of view

Stories with heart and a handwriting — never a formula.

03

Made to be relied on

Films made to be loved for a long time — my word on it.
